Around 110 exciting kilometers of hiking trails wind through the Blue Land. The impressive natural experiences not only make the hearts of active holidaymakers beat faster. Horvath circular route

If you would rather devote yourself to literature, the Horváth circular route might be of interest. The themed trail follows in the footsteps of the famous writer Ödön von Horváth and also shows the unusual sides of Murnau.

For those interested in art and culture, the art walk through Murnau is just the thing. From the Middle Ages to Expressionism, Murnau always attracted artists and intellectuals. This themed trail also includes a visit to numerous places where the artists of the “Blue Rider” worked.

Mountain tours in the Upper Bavarian Alps

Enjoy the view of glittering blue lakes and snow-capped peaks? Mountain hikes in the Upper Bavarian Alps and the Blue Land offer breathtaking views! Our beautiful town of Murnau am Staffelsee has proven to be an ideal starting point for a tour of the surrounding mountains. No matter where you gaze into the distance in Murnau, the peaks of the Upper Bavarian Alps seem close enough to touch. From Murnau's market square, the mountain ranges of the Estergebirge are particularly clearly visible. The "Hohe Kiste," with its 1922 meters, dominates the backdrop. Murnauer Moos From here you can see the gentle mountains of the Ammergau Alps or as far as Zugspitzland.

Climb the peaks with the mountain guide
Do you love the mountains? Then climb the surrounding peaks with one of our long-standing mountain guides. This means you can take in the breathtaking landscape of the foothills of the Alps during a very special mountain experience. Along the way, you'll learn a lot more exciting things about the Blue Land and its inhabitants from your guide. 

The mountain tour to the popular Heimgarten mountain is always worthwhile. With the view of the lakes, the Ammergau Alps, the Wetterstein and Ester Mountains, it is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the region. If you want something a little more ambitious, go to the Krottenkopf (2086 m), the highest peak in the Bavarian Prealps, accompanied by the mountain guide. The route to the three peaks of the Hörnle in the Ammergau Alps is not quite as demanding, but no less beautiful. Do you already know your way around the mountains well, are familiar with the most important rules and would you rather go out alone?
