Visit the places in Murnau that Ödön von Horváth regularly visited and where he wrote down what he experienced there. Thanks to numerous interestingly designed text panels, the connection between his works and his experiences in Murnau is particularly clear. Horváth's famous folk plays were created in Murnau. These include Italian night (1930) Tales from the Vienna Woods (1931) Kasimir and Karoline (1932) and Faith, love, hope (1933). His works are now considered classics of world literature.

"If only I could be back in Murnau!" This sentence from Horváth's letter to his friend Charlotte Fahr makes it clear how much he loved Murnau. On the circular route, you will learn how much the writer valued the country and its people. But also how he came under increasing pressure from the National Socialists.
