The Blue Land meditation trail leads through the middle of picturesque Murnau and the beautiful nature. It is hard to resist the magnificent views over lakes and mountains. With a total length of a good 105 kilometers, consisting of six sections or daily stages, the meditative hiking trail leads to numerous places of power in the Blue Land. Embark on a journey to yourself and immerse yourself in the seclusion of nature on the meditation trail. On this hike you can draw new strength for body and mind. Find inner peace and serenity, be inspired by the stele texts along the way and discover new perspectives.
In six stages through the Blue Land
The meditation path in the Blue Land begins in Bad Kohlgrub and ends in Ettal. There it connects again with the Ammergau Alps meditation path, creating a shared network of paths. Always follow the path markings with the symbol of the burning heart. You do not need any special preparation for the meditative hike, just a willingness to be mindful and quiet.
The first day's stage, starting from Bad Kohlgrub station, leads over the Murnauer Moos directly into our beautiful market town of Murnau a. Staffelsee. In the gently rolling lake and moor landscape it is easy to focus on the essentials. Once you arrive in Murnau, the Murnau Castle Museum or the Münter-Haus to get to know the artistic world around the “Blue Rider“. Perhaps you will discover one or two motifs that you have already encountered on the hike.
The second stage of the meditation path is dedicated to the Staffelsee and the moorland area. You travel by boat from Murnau across the lake to Uffing. After a short circular route via Schöffau, the path takes you back across the water to Seehausen and Murnau. The informative stele texts along the route are a great place to pause and reflect.
The next day, the meditation path leads from the “Vier Linden” lookout point in Murnau northeast to the pretty Riegsee and along the Höhlmühle circular path to Aidling. From there, you start your next stage and travel along the Loisach to Ohlstadt. Here, it is worth taking a detour to the famous Kaulbach Villa or ending the day in one of the pretty cafés.
The fifth stage on the following day is quite entertaining. It goes via the Mariengrotte, the Boschet Chapel, the Heuberg and the Asamklamm to Eschenlohe.
From there you finally start the sixth and final stage. Through the Katzental and up the Ettaler Berg you then reach your destination at the Benedictine monastery of Ettal.
