To protect native wildlife, meadows must not be entered during the period from the beginning of April to the end of September.
The protected period means a closed season. In April, after long winter months, nature awakens from its hibernation and prepares for the annual growth cycle. To protect native flora and fauna, meadows in Bavaria must not be entered from the beginning of April until the end of September . Dogs running loose in the meadow or taking shortcuts off the path have the potential to harm many native species.
In nature, we are essentially living, dining, and sleeping in the home of a wide variety of animal and plant species. For this reason, we want to behave as sustainably and responsibly as possible.
Therefore, we ask all those seeking recreation: Please abide by the rules and thus do your part to preserve our beautiful, biodiverse region.

The section between Murnau and Oberammergau is closed indefinitely. No train services are available on the RB 63 line between Murnau and Oberammergau until further notice.
A replacement bus service has been arranged. It is not currently possible to predict when the disruption will end.

Announcement from Deutsche Bahn dated September 26, 2025:
During the period from September 19th to 26th, 2026, there will be train cancellations and replacement bus services on the route between Munich Central Station and Mittenwald due to construction work.
A replacement bus service is in operation between Oberau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Due to space limitations, bicycles cannot be transported on the buses.
Please check for possible short-term changes in digital travel information media immediately before departure.

Due to construction work, there will continue to be restrictions, timetable changes with service cancellations and replacement bus services on the route between Munich Central Station and Garmisch-Partenkirchen from 24 August to 18 September 2026.
In this final week of restrictions, there will also be some train cancellations from Monday to Friday: The RB 6 (RB 59458) from Garmisch-Partenkirchen at 12:24 pm towards Weilheim is affected.
A rail replacement service will be provided for this connection starting on September 15th, the beginning of the school year.

The Hörnle cable car will undergo complete renovation from November 3rd, 2025 until further notice. No service will be possible during this period.

The cultural and conference center will be closed from June 1, 2026, for approximately three and a half months. This is due to necessary fire safety measures and technical improvements to the building's ventilation system.

During the construction work at the A95/B472 interchange, the route of the Alpenbus (express bus line X990) will change. The Alpenbus will continue to travel via the state road and Antdorf/Iffeldorf, even on weekdays. No stops will be eliminated. Arrival and departure times at the stops in Penzberg will vary.
